Meet Karupureq

Although I am called “Marco” in Cusco, my native Quechua name is Karupureq, which means “one who likes to walk great distances.” This name reflects more than 20 years of traversing the trails of the Andes, guiding travelers on treks of the majestic mountains and offering tours of the archeological wonders of my beautiful country.

In Cusco, they call me “Rosa,” while my shamanic name is F.L.A.M.I.S.S.I.A. I received this name in a vision quest, meaning: “Forever Loyal to the Ancient Mother, I Spin the Sacred Into Awareness.” This name reflects my sincere commitment to evolve spiritually, embody the Divine Feminine, and embrace a sacred relationship with our Mother Earth.

More about Karupureq.

My mystic roots go back to my Chanka ancestors. I was born in my mother’s village of Ccocha, high in the mountains of Apurimac. Her father was a Paq’o, or Andean priest, who provided ceremonies and healing for the village. I was the only one of all his 20 grandchildren who showed an interest in his mystic arts, and was honored to receive the tools of his trade.

After years of guiding tourist with the typical scientific approach, I began to dream of providing a uniquely mystical experience for my travelers. Once I decided to embark on this venture, I met my love and partner on this path.

More about Flamissia.

After raising my four children on an organic, natural-lifestyle homestead in the hills of Tennessee, I studied and taught shamanic healing arts in the US. In the Andean mystical tradition I found the Earth-centered spiritual path I had been looking for.

This led me to Peru in 2019 to study the mystical traditions of the Andes on native soil. I must have been guided by the Apus (the mountain spirits), as within five weeks I met my love and partner on this path..
